Violinist and composer Billy Bang is one of the handful of artists in the moder era to have succeeded in adapting an instrument usually associated with classical or Folk Music Jazz. Influenced as much by such avant-garde masters as Ornette Coleman and Leroy Jenkins, as well as the pioneering Jazz violinists Stuff Smith.
